About me

After school I became a graphic artist and also painted in oils and watercolours. From a young age I always wanted to learn pottery, so eventually I enrolled in the Certificate of Studio Ceramics at the Gold Coast TAFE College.

I completed the three-year ceramics program with honours and received the Meritorious Achievement Award. My career started in the pottery industry on the Gold Coast, followed by an art department position at Townsville Grammar School in 1998, where I discovered my passion for teaching.

For me, being a potter is and always has been about making a nice form and functional everyday pots that should be a joy to hold and use.

With 40 years of working in the pottery industry, with the inevitable interruptions life brings, I remain committed to the craft and to teaching the next wave of potters.
